BSG BUILDBASE
- BASILDON
The site is based on the busy Burnt Mills Industrial Estate five minutes
from the main A127. A heavyside branch with good stocks of bricks,
blocks and timber. A brick library is available and a brick matching
service is offered. The branch has a permanent decorative paving display
with extensive stocks of landscaping products including block paving
and Bradstone paving and walling.
BRAINTREE
BUILDBASE - BRAINTREE
Well situated on the new A120. Distributing Timber and Building Materials
to both large and small contractors. Braintree is an ex timber yard
with a purpose built mill and treatment plant.

BUILDBASE - BRENTWOOD
Our second Greenfield site, opened Oct 2003, located on the quiet
part of Hutton Ind. Est., just off the A12. Offering a vast range
of heavyside, timber and landscaping products, catering for trade
and DIY.
HADLEIGH BUILDBASE
- HADLEIGH
In July 2005 Hadleigh Building Supplies joined Buildbase. This well-respected
general builders merchant trades from a spacious three-acre site in
Hadleigh, Suffolk and has now been relaunched as Hadleigh Buildbase.
Manager Ryan Horsley heads up a team of 13 staff. The business has
been trading since the early 1970s when local entrepreneur, Peter
Mitchell, started an equipment hire operation. He diversified into
building materials and his son Mark carried on the business, expanding
to the current premises three years ago. Today it is a busy builders
merchant offering the complete range of timber and building supplies.
As well as a mill operation there is a bathroom showroom. The trade
counter are will shortly be refurbished and there are plans to add
Hirebase.
PBM BUILDBASE
- HAVERHILL
PBM Buildbase at Haverhill has relocated to a new, purpose-built site. The business has moved a few miles from its present site in The Old Mill to smart new premises in Phoenix Road.
The branch has been able to expand and add new facilities. One of the most impressive is the kitchen and bathroom showroom with 44 displays of the newest designs. There’s a timber mill, Hirebase and a new plumbing and heating counter in the large self-select stores. A hard landscaping area is being built outside in time for spring.
The origins of PBM Buildbase can be traced back to 1965 when Alan Archer set up the family firm. Sons Tony, Paul and Terry have followed him into the business. Having traded from The Pightle, the old police station and courthouse, the company moved to the Old Vitovis Mill in 1989. In 2003 the business joined Buildbase and has continued to grow.
HOLDEN BUILDBASE - IPSWICH
Ipswich adopts Buildbase identity
Following an investment of around £800,000 Ipswich branch adopts the Buildbase identity in April 2007. Holden Timber joined Buildbase in July 2006. New signs are now in place to mark the new identity as Holden Buildbase and a major investment has been made to upgrade the branch.
The branch is located on a two and a half acre site at Ransomes Europark industrial estate in Ipswich. The business has always specialised in timber and sheet materials and has now become a full service builders merchant. The self-select area has been doubled to include many new product lines including a plumbing and heating counter and Hirebase.
There is also a large bathroom and kitchen showroom with around 26 displays. Outside the yard area has been paved and a new hard landscaping area is planned for the spring ready for the warmer weather.
Manager Kayne Fletcher has 24 years’ industry experience and is supported by assistant manager, Steve Caruana. The Ipswich team of staff are extremely knowledgeable and include long-servers like Dennis Maskey in transport and sales and Paul Turner who works in the yard.
BSG BUILDBASE
- SOUTHEND
Predominantly a heavyside branch, which also has it's own
timbermill, a fireplace showroom, a brick library and a large patio
display area. The branch boasts the largest stocks of hard landscaping
products in the area, including natural sandstone paving and the more
unusual granite and sandstone paving setts. A large fleet of crane
unload vehicles enable us to offer next day deliveries (normally!),
from our huge stocks of bricks, blocks, reinforcement, paving, slabs,
timber, fencing, plasterboards and insulation
products.
STOWMARKET BUILDBASE STOWMARKET
Buildbase opens Stowmarket
Buildbase has opened its 11th greenfield site at Stowmarket in Suffolk. The branch can be found at Unit 2 on the Stowmarket Business Park in Needham Road on the outskirts of town. The one-and-a-half acre site has been completely transformed to create a full service builders merchant.
The large trade stores area includes timber and building materials, Hirebase, plumbing and heating, kitchens and bathrooms, ironmongery and decorating.
Manager Chris Chappell has been in the industry for 28 years. Assistant manager Mark Yardley is also very experienced, having worked as branch manager at Buildbase branches in Basildon and Brentwood. There are ten staff in total including Robert Last who looks after the Hirebase operation.
The branch will principally serve Stowmarket and the surrounding villages as well as Bury St Edmunds and the west side of Ipswich. There are two brand new HGVs – a 26-tonne and an 18-tonne lorry – and a Hirebase delivery vehicle.
MARTIN BUILDBASE
- SUDBURY
A recent acquisition to the Anglia Region Branches. For many years,
Martin's has been known locally for it's high levels of customer service.
Located on the A134, this busy branch has an excellent Kitchen and
Bathroom Showroom plus very experienced staff who are able to advise
on both heavy and light side materials. |
