The shop area has been redesigned and rebuilt to create a light and more spacious interior. New product ranges have been added such as protective clothing – including high visibility jackets – and more extensive Henderson Hardware and Fischer Fixings displays. The popular decorating centre has also been expanded. New additions include sprayable fence colours in the timber treatment section. Outside the yard and one-way system has been resurfaced while a new perimeter fence has been added. Manager Lynn Fleckney heads up the team of 11 staff. Assistant manager, Kevin McDermott, has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry.

JOHNSONS BUILDBASE
- OXFORD, BOTLEY
Buildbase opened its first branch in east Oxford ten years
ago and has now opened its latest branch in Botley. The new branch,
also called Johnsons Buildbase, is located at Botley Works, otherwise
known as Curtis Trading Estate and the manager is David Wood. It serves
as a satellite branch for Buildbase’s main branch in Cowley
offering customers a ‘call and collect’ facility to the
west of Oxford. It will be convenient for builders who are working
around the west side of the city. Johnsons Buildbase at Botley offers
all the building materials you would expect, ranging from timber and
joinery, bricks, blocks, cement, plasterboard, drainage and plumbing
& heating products to decorating, ironmongery, workwear and power
tools.
WANTAGE BUILDBASE

Located on the Faringdon Road in East Challow, close to Haynes
and Mellors garage, Wantage Buildbase stocks a good range of general
building materials and timber. Any special items required can be ordered
quickly and efficiently. Our friendly, helpful staff are happy to
look after the needs of local builders and the surrounding communities.
Plenty of parking at the branch. EASTAFF BUILDBASE
- SANDY
Eastaff Buildbase is located on a large five-acre site in Sandy,
Beds, and is the largest builders merchant in the area. The business
dates back well over a century when it first traded as a coal merchant
and today it retains its bias towards heavyside products. However
it is carries the full range of building materials and is well-known
for landscaping products and fencing. Investment is being made to
add new facilities including Hirebase for equipment hire, a timber
operation and an upgrade for the trade stores area. The branch employs
many very experienced staff who have worked with the business throughout
their lives and are well-known to customers. They are able to offer
specialist services including brick matching for restoration on local
period properties. Founder John Eastaff has set up a new enterprise
close by which will appeal to the local rural community, selling guns,
country clothing and accessories. |
