An e-trading portal allows Grafton Group companies (Buildbase, Plumbase, Jackson Building Centres and CPI Mortars) to exchange key business documents such as orders, invoices, credits, delivery notes and statements electronically with their suppliers and customers.

Message formats include XML0 (such as Basda e-build), Tradacoms, Edifact and CSV, or any other format with a fixed structure and suitable data content. Documents can be delivered direct with the Buildbase e-trading portal over the Internet using FTP, by email or through any of the e-trading hubs that operate in the UK construction industry such as Coins, Causeway and Asite.
