Undercoat paint is a type of primer and is designed to help even out any imperfections which appear on the surface that is to be painted meaning once painted you will have a very professional looking finish and long-lasting paint.
If the surface has already been painted then there is no need for a primer, just an undercoat as it helps to cover the previous layer of colour and assists the topcoat sticking to the surface. If the surface has not previously been painted then an undercoat paint and a primer will be required in order to provide a professional looking finish. There are a variety of both interior and exterior undercoat paints on the market meaning you can find the perfect one for your project.
We stock a variety of high-quality and cost-effective undercoat paints from trusted trade names such as Armstead with their Armstead Trade Undercoat and Dulux with Dulux Trade Undercoat. Undercoat paint is available in many colours, including white, grey, medium base and deep base and is also available in a variety of can sizes such as 1L, 2.5L and 5L.
You can apply your chosen undercoat paint with one of our high-quality paint brushes, such as our easy to clean Hamilton Performance Brush 3” which features natural bristles and synthetic filament blend with good paint pick-up and spreading rates. Or you can apply with our brilliant range of paint rollers ideal for covering larger areas at once. You may also require one of our paint kettles and some protective sheets to ensure you keep your work area clean and tidy.
