Concrete Lintels

Concrete lintels are a brilliant solution to providing economical and robust masonry support for load bearing over doors and windows.

Buildbase supply a range of prestressed concrete lintels for new or replacement doors and windows. We stock high quality, trusted products from Naylor lintels and Supreme concrete lintels in various surfaces finishes and in a variety of loadings. We also have a very wide variety of concrete lintel sizes, to ensure you have the right fit for your project. For other projects please view our other lintels for cavity walls, solid walls and eaves.

Prestressed concrete lintels are one of the most reliable, durable and widely used in the construction industry, they boast several benefits including a lower construction cost, fewer joints and a high strength to section ratio. These lintels also have excellent thermal properties and are less susceptible to moisture and chemical corrosion.

The lintel should be installed with a minimum end bearing of 150mm and unlike steel lintels, a concrete lintel is often used in visible areas and painted if required.

For more information on our lintels please check our how to guide. However, before ordering a lintel, it is essential that you speak with the project’s structural engineer to advise on the correct lintel for the job.
